Cloudify Google Cloud(GCP) competency white paper

Cloudify team of consultants and GCP certified experts have designed and implemented many of GCP environments for enterprises across industries. As one of GCP consulting partners in North America, Cloudify, Inc. has demonstrated the capabilities necessary to design, build, migrate and operate complex GCP environments at scale for enterprise clients.

GCP project:

One of the largest Global Product Companies (Company A) The purpose of the engagement was to architect and migrate 47 global corporate websites and e-commerce sites of the company to Google Cloud. We also were part of the design and architecture and the primary project management and engineering teams as subject matter experts for moving all 23,000 employees’ email and desktop applications to GCP. We validated whether GCP is the optimal hosting solution for Company A. This would have had a long-term impact on productivity, profitably, and market agility. Cloudify and Company A successfully moved all 47 primary websites and all e-commerce sites and all 23,000 employees to GCP. Cloudify took into account various factors such as performance, availability, security, compliance, operational staffing, and cost, as well as both the training and ease of use.

 

 

The activities, included the following items:

  1. Cloudify and Company A selected GCP to provide benchmark POC evaluation using the Singapore location workload, environment, and details of all technology stack (systems, storage, network, etc.)
  2. Analyzed and reported on business and technical requirements of the architecture and migration and provided a detailed pros and cons and cost analysis that was presented to the Senior Management and the Board of the company
  3. From the start we believed that networking and security will have major and critical impact on user trust and performance of all applications on GCP
  4. Cloudify Networking and Security engineers became part of the delivery team for advice, design, and implementation
  5. Benchmarked all Singapore based application performance as currently hosted
  6. Architected the platform for Singapore
  7. Documented deployment steps for Singapore to be repeated for all other sites around the world
  8. Created the GCP accounts for Company and the POC was performed under a Company A account so that, if desirable, the environment can continue to be used post-POC as production
  9. Created and configured GCP servers
  10. Deployed and migrated all Singapore systems and data TO GCP, also the new network and security plans were implemented
  11. Assisted in defining test criteria for success
  12. Tested all applications on GCP
  13. Benchmarked Singapore on GCP, presented results and gained approval to go ahead for all other sites and employees
  14. Performed cost analysis and presented and gained approval
  15. Switched all Singapore application production to GCP
  16. Developed the plan, the architecture, migration plan, and actionable plans for the primary site in Ohio and all other 12 locations
  17. All sites were migrated in 9 months and all sites, data, and 23,000 employees were successfully moved using Google Cloud as their production platform
